How is a great way to generate sales leads?

My business primarily deals with the Manufacturering Industry. We sell products that help automation and production lines. Any ideas?

There are business organizations that will sell you updated contacts in certain industries, that's one way.

Another is to use Hoovers to find contacts within companies.

Or, when you are on the phone with your current contacts, ask them (in your discovery phase) who their competitors are, then research the company and get a contact.

It's very easy to cold call a receptionist and ask to speak to someone in a specific department- for example, I ask for the IT person, or you can say "can I speak to the person responsible for server maintenance?"

One last way is to ask your current contacts for referrals- "Who else in your company would benefit from these products" or something similar.

I would tell you more, but it sounds like we may be in competing businesses ;-)

I find that it is far better to attract your own leads. If you can not get in contact with someone from the site, I would say that is a bad sign. One thing to do is to start a blog or write some articles.
Use Blogger.com or Wordpress.com and ezinearticles.com.

Become the expert on the product or service you are selling.

Then link back to your website or capture page. You might as well use the power of the internet.
