Can someone explain to me how sales leads work?

Monday Sep 28, 2009

I signed up with an online company, & they are charging me anywhere form $15. to $19 per lead. They said there is no guarantee that I would get the job, & I get charged even if a customer is just curious & looking for information. Is this legal? I thought a lead was a guarantee. I know lots of salesmen buy lead sheets. Can someone tell me more or is this a scam?? My husband is having a fit because I just got charged $100. & 3 of them were just looking..

Paying per lead can obviously get very costly!

I dont recommend that, but it has worked for some.

I wrote a recent article on this subject, and it explains a little more in detail to answer your question, so I will post the URL in the Source box below.

The article is about:
* How to get targeted leads for your business.
* How to use the leads once you get them.
* and what cost are involved?

Also, I will provide a link to the company I recommed www.DBShack.com

And tell your husband…I think he’s right !
It just shouldn’t cost that much for leads.

Remember, No-matter-what, once you get some leads … its going to take some time and effort on your part to make them work for you.
But they do work……

Hope this helps

I’ve been in sales many years and would NEVER believe those online leads that require upfront money. Ask them if they’ll take a percentage of what you sell from their leads rather than an upfront cost. If they say no that tells you how much faith they have in what they are offering… There are rarely free rides in sales — it requires hard work and resilience.

If you are in sales or an entrepreneur I HIGHLY recommend The Best 100 Business Books of All Time (book), SPIN Selling (book), 25 Habits of Successful Sales people (book), salesguy.org, millerheiman.com and sellingpower.com. Good luck!
